Leopold Swim School COVID-19 Safety Plan
Aim: To ensure all patrons are kept safe we will be following ‘Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations: Managing the risk of COVID-19 in Aquatic Facilities.’
What we will do to keep you COVID safe?
To keep you safe we will be implementing the following measures to address social distancing laws:
- All patrons must thoroughly sanitize hands on entry. Hand sanitizer station will be available at entry, toilets and pool halls for maintaining good hygiene.
- All patrons must check in for contact tracing on arrival.
- All patrons over 12 years must wear a face mask at all times when not in pool.
- SWIM n’ GO – We encourage participants to have their equipment on (bathers, cap & goggles) before entering centre.
- All swim school participants – 2 guardians/ patrons are able to attend per swimmer. We request 1 of the 2 guardians/ patrons to remain in the café / reception area. Please note the guardian in the water with our AquaBabies is counted as 1 of the 2 guardians. PLEASE BE MINDFUL WE ARE STILL ENCOURAGING MINIMAL PATRONS IN THE CENTRE.
- Encourage all patrons to maintain a 1.5m distance between other patrons and staff.
- Safety screens have been installed to protect patrons and staff.
- Designated entry and exit points into centre to support one way traffic. Entry via front door, exit via rear door of new building.
- Equipment will not be shared. It will be disinfected and rotated every half hour.
- 10 minute break period between each lesson time.
- Participants will manage their own hygiene (e.g. wiping their own nose).
- Changeroom facilities are open but heavily restricted. 6 person limit per changeroom, 5 minute time limit. We strongly encourage all patrons to SWIM n’ GO.
- All participants must bring a hoodie towel, jacket, dressing gown, slippers or thongs that can be put on quickly to wear home over their bathers.
- Swimmers must bring in minimal belongings and monitor the placement of personal items and their vicinity to others.
- The centre will continue to be regularly cleaned twice daily. Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned numerous times daily. This includes EFTPOS equipment, handrails, tables, chairs, counter tops, door handles and fridges.
What you need to do to be COVID safe?
Any swimmer or patron that has travelled overseas must self-isolate for 14 days and not attend swimming.
Any swimmer or patron that has been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 must self-isolate for 14 days and not attend swimming.
Any swimmer or patron with symptoms or signs of COVID-19 must NOT visit our swim centre until full recovery has taken place.
If you are displaying any of the following common COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend the centre.
- Fever
- Coughing
- Sore throat
- Fatigue (tiredness)
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
If your swimmer’s school, early learning centre, daycare or kindergarten is closed due to COVID, you are NOT permitted to attend until that facility has been cleared by authorities.
The centre must be notified if you test positive of COVID-19 so we can respond quickly. We need to notify the health authorities for directives.
